

This activity was carried out by the students from St Andrews Junior School. Third, fourth, fifth and sixth class have participated in a researching project about "Carnavales". The aim of this little project was to elaborate a very visual poster with simple information about this festival in Spanish.
This activity had the following stages:
- Research and collect information of "Carnavales" in English.
- Summarise the information into very simple sentences and key words
- Translating a list of connector words from English into Spanish and also the key words selected from the previous stage
- Building simple sentences in Spanish using some verbs, the connector words and the key words.
- Designing the poster and adding the information to it.
The learning goals of this project were the following ones:
- To develop an understanding of the Spanish language syntax's, as well as to build simple sentences to deliver and communicate information.
- To extend the vocabulary
- To develop speaking and communication skills through presenting the poster to the younger classes.
- To promote an awareness of the Spanish culture and develop an interest towards it.
